With regards to saving money, this project would have been going on for years now, so canning it might not be the best course of action.

That's pretty impressive, I live right next to Warton and often work in the area, always enjoy seeing and hearing the fighters flying around... and will look forward to seeing this (hopefully?), but aside from the incredible technology.... do we really need weapons like this? I mean, we are going to destroy ourselves eventually, right?

Yeah I'd imagine the money was already spent by the time it was needed. I actually saw a rumour about this a while ago, I remember the funky air intake, sometimes the conspiracy theorists get it right

Cool looking thing, and if you're going to spend the money, spending it on things that take young lads out of the line of fire is where to spend it IMO. Let's hope the Americans buy some, make some money back.

I was under the impression that this wasn't actually set for production and it was more of a research exercise. Can't see it happening to be honest. Clever stuff though, and a bit of an 'up yours, anything you can do...' to the US defense industry.

YEah it's a research aircraft by bae has been in development for a while, looks like the boeing x45 though.
It will probably only fly in Australia at woomera like the last one.
