    Burning 'that' book

So a bunch of yankies are going to be having a little bonfire this weekend, fueled by malice and copies of the Koran:
    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-11238062

    The host of this mustache:

payed to his sky fairy, who clearly is the correct sky fairy (referred to as SF2) obviously because you know its written in a book, that these other people's sky fairy (SF1) is wrong, even thou their sky fairy's book is older.

Now, these people have decided to take great offense at something which was done, by a silly looking inbread yank, to create offense.

The only conclusion I can make is that the Cylons need to wipe us out.

For a start of the library footage grade protests which Pretaurs has already commented on, showed SF1 followers burning US flags, even thou the koran's have yet to be burnt by SF2 mob.

But better than that, the footage of the korans on Newsnight showed that they were in fact translated versions, so not pure representations of SF1, therefore not such a great offense.

Apparently he only has 50 followers anyway, so his interpretation of SF2 is obviously not shared by most yankies, yet will the followers of SF1 behave accordingly? From the media outrage seen already it seems not.

That I think is a bit worrying.

But on the lighter side of things, who is up for making a giant mustache effigy and burning it on primrose hill at about 3pm on Saturday? We could also make little ones for the kids to throw on the fire?

    Re: Burning 'that' book

You're missing the important fact, which is that it's the same frikking "sky fairy".

    Oooooh yes it is.

Anyway, this guy is beyond contempt. We could burn an effigy of him, buy frankly I'd rather barbecue him in person. Which, according to his beliefs, is almost certainly what's going to happen to him anyway, eventually So it'll all work out in the long run. No need to worry.

In a way, I think this could actually be a good thing. The condemnation from virtually the entire the Western world, versus 50 nutters, hopefully proves that most of us are normal.

Sadly, judging by the demonstrations in various Islamic nations, their media is reporting it as though it's the other way round.

ive lost count of the amount of Bibles, effigies and flags iv'e seen burn on tv, all aimed at western countries. But it's no excuse, this man needs to grow up, but so does Islam.

Western media do just the same though, 50 idiots burn an American flag and it's the headline on Fox for a week. Media is sensationalist on both sides, because it's profitable.

Without them, this idiot and his Muslim counterparts would be nobodies, in the middle of nowhere having a very lonely bonfire.

My imaginary friends were better than all of theirs anyway, they always had far more entertaining ideas than bonfires, and one of these days I'll find out where the doctors are hiding them.

Jon Stewart did an excellent segment on this on last nights Daily Show, catch it on 4OD or something if you missed it, very funny.

its not a book, its an excel spreedsheet (yes i acknowledge a TNF sql engine would have greater capacity, but alas the column limit in excel 97 is more than adaquate).

Why is religion such a big deal in today's society? If he wants to burn some paper, let him, just totally ignore him while he does it. "Simplez" *Squeak*

Stupid people are stupid people where ever they live and what ever they believe in unfortunately. Its seems to me that religion (of pretty much any flavour) seems to attract people like this twit then they gravitate to the extremes of their chosen religion

    Or crazy Muslims...

Interesting that on September 11th 2001 there were hordes of people in the streets in the Muslim world burning American Flags etc, but no-one in the Western world making similar gestures back; even though we were the ones attacked...it's a scary "society".

(Yes yes, I know it's a minority of Islamics who feel this way, etc; but it's a much larger and more visible minority that any equivalent in any other religion, and one doesn't see much in the way of visible condemnation from their peers. Some of it might be down to media bias, I'm sure...)
