Have you started County Court action yet?
Write to them stating you intend to do so as you are not satisfied with their response to date (don't bluff and huff) and this gives them the chance to reflect and settle.
Ask if they could provide the contact details of a person to name in proceeding...email, phone, fax, name, job title, address.
How to file a claim
Online Claim
There will be a fee involved to start the action, you may get this back if the judgement is in your favour.
If you win and they don't pay you will have to go through additional enforcement action.
The defendant used to be able to move any court hearings to a court near where they are based, so prepare for travel (though looks like you can do it online now, and the Tory led government is closing all lawcourts outside of London and Cambridge anyway).
Be honest, up front and as factual as possible. Don't have any snipes or have a go...just try to get your money back.
Good Luck....and of course Google for more info...
(I've taken one person to County Court for £350 and won, very long process and I threatened a company with County Court action and they settled then and there)

So fed up of this now, going to go down the moneyclaim route tomorrow. It's going to cost £50 though so not happy about it at all!
I am going to claim for £350 for the laptop (max insurance i opted for), the £30 i initially paid for the service, the £50 it's going to cost to file the claim and I would very much like to claim for the sheer hassle of all of this. I have sent dozens of e-mails, been patient & polite for almost 3 months now and have been stuffed at every corner!
Can I claim for the full £500 the £50 fee is limited to, or is that just being excessive and likely to go against me?
and finally, am I better off going through the money claim website, or doing it all on paper and hand it into the court? hats the way we did it when recovering the rent from our landlord.
In by the skin of their teeth, they are collecting the laptop on Monday. I will not allow them to take the hard drive away, they do not need to have that to see they made a total hash of the screen!
Can I expect to receive the initial cost of the service as well? £30 I'd rather I had back.
Right, an update! 5 months later I have got everything back. They sent me a cheque for the full amount I claimed for, £350, and I was given the choice of £40 of free credit to use with them, or the inital delivery cost back. With me sending several parcels in the near future i went with the credit.
Whilst I have been more or less in contact with them throughout the last few months (I counted over 35 e-mails when i was considering a court case) the fact that each e-mail seemed to be replied to by a different person worried me considerably. With so many people handling my case I think it just got lost in between people multiple times and that's what delayed it so long. I am amazed their system is like this, and that they don't assign one person to a claim, surely that would make their lives easier as well?
Had it not been for their QA guy, George (who replied to this thread off his own back, further up) I would be cursing the ground they walk on, and it worries me again that had he not stepped in and handled it I would still be lost in the depths of Parcel2go's system. he has been very helpful though and did re-affirm my faith in them again!
I would still recommend them, I have used them in the past and didn't have any problems and I think i am an isolated case (I hope so anyway!) so fingers crossed this doesn't happen to anyone else!
