    Don't Post contradictions On-line

    http://www.theregister.co.uk/2010/09...deleted_posts/

I know the more sensible of us would not do something stupid like this, but I do wonder with the youth of today who just say absolutely anything on the likes of Facebook and Twitter, would they realise the backlash if something happens? I doubt it.

    QFT!

And that of course goes for any site (not just Facebook) - even HEXUS!

You never know who (or what) might be lurking and what the eventual repercussions might be. It is (one) of the reasons why we are so hot on the subject of copyright infringement, warez and any other post that might be construed as condoning or promoting some unlawful activity. It's the old ' Don't say anything you wouldn't want your mother to read'
Someone left a note on a piece of cake in the fridge that said, "Do not eat!". I ate the cake and left a note saying, "Yuck, who the hell eats paper ?

Had a guy phone in sick one day at work, then post how he had a monster hangover, he'd forgotten that his manager was a friend on his facebook

    Re: Don't Post contradictions On-line

Indeed, the correct method is to ensure that everything you post online matches your declared working status.

For instance, I am currently curled up in bed with a dicky stomach, feeling - well, a little better than death warmed up, but not as good as life cooled down. Bleurgh -I hate Fresher's week...

And this is the exact reason why Geo-location services are a bad thing!! Imagine saying you're in bed sick only to have your mobile phone post you're at Brighton Beach...

And don't forget, sometimes a "sickie" is the only way to deal with serious stress that could lead to mental health problems.

Which just goes to prove that having an IQ significantly higher than than your average turnip isn't a prerequisite for posting on social networking sites.

And before the complaints come flooding in from those that know I'm not a Facebook (etc) fan, I'm not saying (or even thinking) that anyone posting on Facebook has the IQ of a turnip. Just that some do.

I was going to say that the individual in question has the IQ of a very small pea nut myself.

That said knowing that boss didn't know about it was fun, meant that if I needed to swap shifts with I'd only have to reveal his mistake to the boss. He'd been in trouble over something like that before.

Not his first time, eh? Hmmm, I think I ought to apologise for that 'turnip' crack ..... if there's any turnips reading this, I apologise unreservedly for the unflattering comparison.

    Keeps you honest
And I don't really buy that excuse. If you have "serious stress issues", see your GP. Anything else (e.g. heading down the beach) is plain unfair to your colleagues.
