well hows about i strap you to your chair, and every time you even think about falling asleep i apply an electric current to the chair, either that or set up a flood light in your room so you can't sleep because of the intensity of the light ?

Sweets is normally quite good for burning the midnight oil any food in general will help
I realise this is caffine.... but a bottle of coke! worked wonders for me at 3am a couple of weeks ago, when i was working a night shift at the hospital. Couple of sips was enough to stop me feeling sick, dizzy, very sleepy.... we are allowed to take breaks, but i would rather not as i feel physically ill when i wake up and depending on which break you get the rest of the night drags, cos all you wanna do is go to bed and sleep
although it was 9.30 the next morning when my eyes finally closed, i was home and in bed for 8am!!

Keeping busy works quite well.
ginseng!

A good fragging session wakes me up. I've just torn myself away from Tribes 2, but I'm so pumped I probably won't be able to get to sleep for half an hour....

stick your face under the cold tap for 5 mins.. works for me... A wet trout as already suggested by kemosabe also works very well although a bit impractical at times...
caffeine doesnt work, for me anyway.. coke/coffee, doesnt help...
