    So them WSB riders.....

....pretty bloody quick as it turns out.

Went karting this evening at a very wet, very misty Buckmore Park, and who should be karting with us but Leon Camier (formerly of Airwaves Yamaha iirc).

I didn't twig who he was at first - but you knew he was going to be quick - he jokingly wore the 'novice' jacket and was quietly confident amongst a room of otherwise nervous blokes. Well, 80mph karts, slicks and cold - what a mix

On track he was quick. Not just quick, but streaks ahead of everyone else out there - he was cutting through the pack with rediculous speed no-one else could find. Tried to keep up with him - worked for a couple of corners, at which point he'd up sticks and bugger off into the distance.

So the end of the session comes (I still hadn't twigged who he was) so happened to be chatting as he walked past - mentioned I tried to keep up with him and had no luck - he nonchalently responded he hadn't karted here before but he'd picked up a few tricks elsewhere - ah, that would be World Superbikes then.......

So I've raced against Leon Camier, and had my arse handed to me on a platter. What an evening!

P.S. 390cc tuned karts in the wet leads to some somewhat epic sideways fun!

    Ooh got any pics?

Leon Camier is fabulous on a bike and a lovely bloke to boot! Met him at Oulton Park a few years ago when he rode in BSB....

    Re: So them WSB riders.....

Haven't raced against any WSB guys, but I won a competition on here a few years back to take part in an Intel Karting event that Christian Klien showed up at.

I was the 2nd quikest there, he had a bit in hand over me - but I'd had a hell of a time travelling there early that morning, and had to drive a kart with the seat in his position (he did stint 1, I went in straight after him - we were in the same team along with the guys from SCAN) - I reckon I could've got a bit closer to him given a decent bit of time to do some laps without traffic etc.

Still, it was nice to race with someone who does it for a living. Makes me feel better about myself

I was taking part in the Vauxhall Driver of the Year, had to do Go-Karts. Was on a dry circuit unfortunately

But still had a blast lol!
