....pretty bloody quick as it turns out.
Went karting this evening at a very wet, very misty Buckmore Park, and who should be karting with us but Leon Camier (formerly of Airwaves Yamaha iirc).
I didn't twig who he was at first - but you knew he was going to be quick - he jokingly wore the 'novice' jacket and was quietly confident amongst a room of otherwise nervous blokes. Well, 80mph karts, slicks and cold - what a mix
On track he was quick. Not just quick, but streaks ahead of everyone else out there - he was cutting through the pack with rediculous speed no-one else could find. Tried to keep up with him - worked for a couple of corners, at which point he'd up sticks and bugger off into the distance.
So the end of the session comes (I still hadn't twigged who he was) so happened to be chatting as he walked past - mentioned I tried to keep up with him and had no luck - he nonchalently responded he hadn't karted here before but he'd picked up a few tricks elsewhere - ah, that would be World Superbikes then.......
So I've raced against Leon Camier, and had my arse handed to me on a platter. What an evening!
P.S. 390cc tuned karts in the wet leads to some somewhat epic sideways fun!
