My Graddad is rather poorly in hospital, we had a phone call this morning to say he was rushed in to casualty last night, something to so with his heart condition. Whilst you expect this kind of thing with elderly relatives, it's always a shock to hear it none the less.
My thoughts are with your Granddad and family, I hope he makes a speedy recovery.

Went through it a few months ago & I am very close to my Grandad so it was one helluva shock! Got my fingers crossed for you & your Grandad mate!

Heard through the grapevine that they're waiting on some result from some blood tests. Not been to the hospital myself because there's nothing I can do for him even if I go. From what I can gather it doesn't appear to be quite as serious as first thought.

As for not going to see him, I can understand your reasons but it may mean so much to him if you did, a visit from his Grandson may just be the lift he needs. They can be lonely places hospitals

Kind of hoping they are going to let him come home tomorrow, so I may well be on taxi duty, well plan to be anyway, Mum had to do all the running about today, my turn tomorrow. It's a bit harder at the moment as Dad has gone to America for work.
Well it would appear he's had a sever heart attack. I wasn't suprised about that. I went to see him today, he looked awful, like a puffer fish around the face. When he got out of ned to visit the gents I could see just how frail he is.
What I'm a little bit angry about is the fact that they're sending him home. Tonight !
My empathy too mate, my dad has three on the trot 2 years ago and ended up having the triple bypass. Now at 77 yrs old he's as fit as I've ever known him
Hope he ends up all well !

By pass isn't really an option, he's 88, along with a list of other conditions as long as your arm.
Not heard anymore so can only assume that he's home. Hope he aees the nigh through.
Does seem a bit previous to send him home, hope he goes on ok; not nice for your Dad, being out of the country (or is it your Mum's dad) - either way, family illness sucks*, for everyone concerned, even at 88. All the best

It's Mum's Dad. They have an agreement that if it's his parents he comes home, if its hers he stays out there.
Sorry to hear that, hope he's OK today. And I hope you have been able to get to see him because, without wishing to be macabre or insensitive, having a heart attack at that age is not good, so make sure you get to see him to say all the things you want to now, just in case later is a bit too late.
But that aside, I hope he goes on to recover and live many more years!

I can't help but wonder if they're sending him home because it's the kindest thing to do. Yes, you could keep him in hospital, and he may or may not need further treatment but in the meantime he'll be miserable. At least if he's at home and the worst happens, well... he's with his family
