MCSE or MCITP ??

MCSE or MCITP ??

I've been job hunting a bit and need to back up my experience (11+ years) with some certifications and can't decide between going for MCSE or MCITP. It should be no choice with MCITP being the clear winner as it's the more current but this is what I've seen:

Most job adverts ask for MCSE, very few mention MCITP
I'll be self funding so there are far more resources available (cheaply) for MCSE.
I'd have greater access to hardware for testing/labs etc for MCSE than MCITP (due to the hardware requirements of Win 7 / 2008)

What's the general thought in the IT community on this ?

Dont go for the MCSE, especially as your self funding, out of date by a fairly long way.

I suspect the main reason alot of job adverts still have it in there, are the HR/person in charge of recruiting has no technical knowledge at all, and is purely working from a list of keywords

I never actually got round to doing my MCSE, but I have applied for jobs that have stated it being a requirement and faired ok.

Depends what exactly you want to do/study.

Dont bother with windows certification.

No point looking behind you, move forward. MS is rapidly losing server space to all but small business / login /exchange.
