Protesters gathered outside the new Playboy club in London's Mayfair which opened last night after an absence of 30 years.

In the past it was the playground for the rich and famous but now demonstrators argue it is sexist and outdated.

Sexism against females is a thing of the past, it's only these Woman who are keeping it alive by making a mokery of the people who really did make a difference.

I must say that I can think of better things to do of an evening than paying throught the nose to be served drinks by some women in velvet leotards. You'd almost certainly get more tittilation from outfits worn by the paying female cutomers of your average suburban nightclub- and certainly more chance of an interesting conclusion to the evening .

But, that said, I'll take these protesters seriously when I see them protesting outside a Chippendales performance.

Edit: in fact sod it, as a man who has a lot of sympathy for feminist ideals, I think these protesters are attacking entirely the wrong targets. I don't watch much telly, but how often do adverts portay a man using detergent products to provide a safe home environment for his kids? How often do you see a man cooking up a tasty meal for his wife and family using convenience foods? And I'd go so far as to say that it's not at all uncommon for adverts to portray men, single or otherwise, as incompetent/slobbish/lazy, for apparently 'humourous' effect.

That really is sexist. But I don't see campaigners for sexual equality protesting outside the ad agencies or the multinationals that employ them.
