I still have and use BT's similar phone: Easicom 1000

While I no longer use its email function,
it's still one of the best phones with good speakerphone, huge display for callerid and a nice pull-out qwerty keyboard for it's address book.

If you're going to have a landline phone with caller display voicemail etc, then you couldn't really go wrong having email and internet chucked in - very handy as a spare if your pc goes down, to have access to your email and pretty good internet, plus sms, video call (not sure how well that worked, i never had that model) etc. I did use mine for a surprising amount & people were usually surprised how much you could do. Though the ones who thought shopping/surfing on a screen that size was eccentric, are now using much smaller smartphones to do the same which amuses me slightly.

There are still emailers with bids of £20 & up on ebay, so I presume people aren't aware of the demise of the service* (or if they are, they must really like the em@iler http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Amstrad-E3-Ema...item1e64c2e047

I haven't seen any mention of it anywhere myself, not even on here, and THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE A TECH FORUM!!

It seems to have slipped by the tech world, if only the same could be said about the Beko Fridge Freezer recall.
