    Exclamation A big Greece-y package?

What are peoples' thoughts on the aid package that has been agreed for Greece?

BBC states it is expected to be treated like a default for the most part so is it that great?...it has it's own problems of course but do you think it will actually work or should I say work better than a different option?

I don't pretent to fully understand the issues here but looking quickly at the numbers from the BBC article & some of the comments it's not gone down brilliantly or am I just plain wrong & too pessimistic? (it has been known to happen )

I find this a bit incomprehensible - on the one hand there are sataements saying hat this brings greater fiscal unity within the EU, while Greece, Portugal, Spain and Italy have preferetial interests rates for their debt compared with the other eurozone countries - which to my simple mind seems to b the opposite of fiscal unity.

I can't help thinking that longer term the Euro s looking flaky, and if I was a Geran citien. I'd be very concerned about the fact that I appear to be bailing out "the feckless mediterranean countries".

Those with a smattering of 20th century history might recall another situation where German citizens felt hard done by with the Treaty of Versaille and the creation of the Weimar Rupublic.

I think we're a long way from anybody annexing the Sudetenland.

Altough, maybe, we could just take a few Greek Islands in payment?

The Euro is a lovely idea, but as many have said you can't have such vastly different and divergent economies, all with their own national goals and interests under one currency. Feel sorry for the Greek and other peoples stuck with it's consequences.
