    How S***e Are Game???

    Many months ago, #1 son preordered himself the 'Epic' edition of GOW 3...a few weeks ago, the cash was taken (£100) from his account, he got emailed a track and trace number...and waited...

    So far he has recieved a reciept, telling him what they sent and when they sent it...he's tried putting in the details on their site again tonight to be told that the tracking number and the surname he has entered are wrong, yet the Royal Fail website says how its been sent but nothing else when he enters the number and date on there!

    What a bunch of muppets, he made sure to save a bit from his saturday job each week to get this, and now all he has to show for it is a reciept thats cost him £100...

    None of the order details on his reciept from game work on the game website...they did a few days ago, now they don't. As said, so far he's given them a hundred quid for a reciept and nothing else...

    Give them a ring mate. I used to work for them many moons again, and as much as I dislike the company for the way they treat workers, the customer service is normally pretty good from them. It was very rare for them not to take the side of the customer.

    But then again, times change, so no idea what they are like now.

    Since Game updated the website and moved stuff over they have been having sooo many problems.

    I am yet to receive two games, my order history says one is cancelled, I didnt cancel it and the I got a text about the other saying it was delayed being sent out due to recent problems and would be with me within a week, that has now passed. According to some information they had on the website, the cancelled order thing is incorrect and is a bug since moving over.

    I have messaged them a number of times wanting some information on when i can expect to receive my games, after all they were pre ordered so I should have had them before release, not nearly a month after in one case and 2 - 3 weeks in the other.

    I receive no acknowledgment that they have received my e-mails and I heard nothing back, the contact us section of the Game website is a pile of crap. Its strikes me as pretty poor that a company such as game didnt either do a test release of the website or run the old and new side by side, that way if there were problems such as the ones they had (People not being able to access accounts, peoples accounts being seemingly deleted from the system and many more) they could roll back.

    and I am boycotting them and all high-street computer game stores.....at least until they realise we are not happy with getting releases later then the rest of the world, I will keep on buying from the rest of the world instead.

    I rang them on Michaels behalf today, and they were pretty good to be fair, I felt guilty for giving the bloke and ear bashing, but I did say that I found it unacceptable that they have kept him waiting nearly 3 weeks, and all he has to show for his hard earned money is a friggin' receipt!

    I expressed my dissatisfaction at them refunding the charge he paid to have his package delivered special delivery and then sent an email to say it was being sent first class! FIRST CLASS! A package worth £100 is not covered if it got lost under first class!

    Anyway! Game said that Michaels package hadn't been picked up by Parcel Farce, thats why it hadn't been delivered... Whether that's true or not I don't know, passing the buck came to mind.

    Anyway, he asked whether Michael wanted his package or a refund and I said that he wanted his package and I wanted it confirmed that it will be sent by special delivery, and wanted it here tomorrow, the man said they could do that. I said I hoped so, otherwise I'd be on the phone every day until it has been delivered.

    So we shall see what tomorrow brings.

    they did the deal and they will take the dough back if needed.

    They are a nightmare, I gave them a punt on Deus Ex:HR after not using them for a loooong time for similar reasons, and after getting mine later than everyone else (except, it would seem, one member of this forum) and the free comic in a pretty bad way (apparently they were all stored in damp conditions???) I won't be using them again.

    I do wonder how they are making such a loss though - the two stores near me are always rammed, and with video game sales blowing all other 'entertainment' sales out of the water these days, I just don't understand it. Probably just missing something.

    Anyway, all the best getting it sorted!

    Remembering the Distance Selling Legislation though they do have upto 30 days to deliver the goods, unless any other time has been agreed between Michael and Game.

    Can understand the frustration though if paid for RMSD and not had the package yet.

    Chargeback on debit card isn't an automatic entitlement, and more often than not banks will say sorry can't help, unless it's a fraudulant deal then they really don't have to do anything.

    If either Shelly or Jon has a credit card and Michael wants to order a special edition game, might be worth either one you pair doing it that for him and get him to pay you the money, got bit more security that way, especially if its through game.

    My experience with credit cards is that unless it's £100+ (which granted this is, but most aren't) is that the card issuer generally ain't interested.

    Only because the joint liability under S75 of Consumer Credit Act 74 states it's got to be £100 and over, for if it's £99.99 it aint covered.

    My experience was the opposite with Mastercard to be fair to them - A full refund of a dodgy retailer for something in the 20 quid range. Result!
