eBay Problem

Sold a phone for a mate on eBay the other week.

He received the cheque and sent off the phone before it cleared.
Now he's got it back saying it wasn't accepted (it's bounced) and he has already sent off the phone.

Emailed the buyer, but something tells me they won't reply. Can't get a phone # from directory enquiries.

What are my/our options?

How do I get contact info of buyers from eBay?

If all else fails then name and shame and we can trash his reputation

id say it was too late - as youve sent the phone, a rule with ebay is there are loads of dodgy people, so let funds clear before sending, i always do, on forums i generally dont always bother as people are more trustworthy

if i was you email and email till he replies, if not email ebay and see if theres anything you can do - if ebay start sending him emails saying pay up, they normally cough

Why did he post it if the cheque had not cleared? Fair enough if it a cheque for only a few quid, but for that amount it's just plain stupid.

Make sure you leave bad feedback for the person who bought the phone if you can't get hold of them for the money. Does he have a high user rating? I think your m8 will just have to chalk this one up to experience

Yep, if he has a high rating then you can really hurt him but if it's less than 10 he might be screwed.

I've already left positive feedback cos it was almost a week ago now and I assumed everything had gone fine

Bugger for my mate really. This person has one other piece of feedback that is good and that is recent, so I'm hoping that she does just pay up honestly :S

I believe Ebay let you retract feedback but i'm not sure how to do it. Anyone?

I'll give it a few days before I do that, to give her a chance to reply. I got her phoen number from that eBay contact thing (Thanks GreenPiggy!) and gave it my mate to contact. Let's hope all goes well
