Very true. Part of what]s bothering me is why I don't feel I could just rant to his/their face/s. All part of that nicey-nicey middle class trying to avoid stepping on people's toes thing. That said, it wouldn't benefit anyone if I did go off on one at him/them, so it's probably not worth the agro.

Better to check who your friends are.

I normally just know, but at some point I'd lost track of who I'd added on G+ as well as FB. A bit silly really. The one rule I do have is that I don't put anyone from work on any social network unless I would actually choose to spend time socialising with them outside of work - and even then I'd think twice about it. Far too many problems that way lie...

Either don't draw attention to it an hope it all blows over, or just de friend them and move on!

Well, I haven't received any backlash, and I haven't been defriended, so either the people concerned didn't see the rant, or they saw but assumed that it couldn't possibly apply to them. Given the people concerned, I think those possibilities are equally likely...

Agreed. I'm in a very similar situation right now, don't want to talk about it on the offchance someone I know reads this... but suffice to be said, it's very easy to be angry with people or what they're doing and much harder to actually discuss with them what you think. It would probably be for the best, ultimately, but it just seems utterly unthinkable.

I'm pretty sure no one at work reads hexus and I avoid social network stuff, so I don't get into these situations.

But then again I'm a goth, I've seen the amount of carp that can go on online, back in the days of IRC, which is the other reason I avoid social network stuff.
