    HELP. women's health websites?

Do any of you know of any good women's health websites? I'm having a problem and I need somewhere with symptoms etc to see if I need to get it checked out or not.

Best thing to do is go and see your Doctor. Self diagnosis is never a good idea, even for those of us who are actually qualified!

yeah, self diagnosis is always a bad thing - you read on ething and think 'hmm, that could be it', then see another far worse thing and get all worked up about it beyond what is merely a simple treatable condition...!
apart from the blindingly obvious: loss of limb etc. go see a doctor.

oh and in case you do lose a limb, best see a doctor about that too

    NHS direct:
    "are you a student?"
    -yes
    "do you use contraception"
-what the f* has that got to do with my missing toe?!

this is also similar to university doctors...why do they always as these dumb questions?
the gf went into quack's with something called cryptosproidia [or something] - she's a vet student so caught a nasty bug off a cow (no no, she was always mad) - anyway, sh*ting through eye of a needle and chucking up too = nasty and worth checking out, so whats the first thing they ask her? "are you sexually active, do you use contraception?"
i can see it now - university doctor found suffocated with condom over their head...

    Nhs direct's usual answer......
Go and see your GP, or if they are worried they will call you an ambulance!

i rang NHS direct today..... Their answer was 'well it probably is, but we can't really tell so just rest anyway.' Not very helpful.

Hey i thought i had testicular cancer once. I wanted to sit on it (metaphorically speaking) to see if it would go away. It didn't, so i went to the docs and it was some tube wrapped around my erk! Apparently it's completely normal, nice one sex ed teachers

Anyway, if it were what i thought it might have been i would be dead by now so it's not always a good idea to wait to see if it'll go away.

Yes that story is just wrong but it's a good example.....well not really.

    *shrug*

I don't like going to the doctors, I'm giving it an opportunity to go away first

    Depends what it is?!

From my experience it could be one of two things...

either smother it in live yoghurt or drink lots of cranberry juice! (or go to the pharmasist... they're very helpful!)
