When couriers don't deliver on time...

Should they be giving out free delivery or something? Are they under contract to deliver the next day, if they say 'next day delivery', and what can you do about it if they don't? Its just so annoying, city link have done it to me twice now, not delivered when they're supposed to. Whats more annoying is that they then say they attempted delivery, when they blatantly didn't as I was in the next room all day, and they didn't put a card in under the door, which they say they did.

    [/frustrated rant]

I thought this thread was along the line of 'When Animals Attack' or 'When Trains Explode', only slightly less exciting. I was going to say, Channel 5 are really scraping the barrel now.

On topic, some companies will refund if you order next-day and it doesn't arrive. Someone mentioned getting a refund from Lowest On Web when this happened.

They did it to me, said they attempted and then left no card, I wasn't actually in, so they were right they could not deliver, but then they took it out the next day and did not even bother, I ended up having to go collect it, 16 miles away, worst part is my new golf clubs are coming city link and I bet I have to do the same again.

You can argue with those who you bought off, they are the only people who can claim a refund and then refund it to you, I have had to do this a few times. Rule of thumb is if they say they attempted then they are under no obligation what soever to make a delivery again without hearing from you i.e a phone call. so really get in touch with who shipped to you.

I just hope my mates in when they try to deliver the golf clubs
