Ebay selling item.. ( :/ )

Anyone know what to do if you've sold an item on ebay, and something has happened to it? (meaning you can't post it).

I've mailed the winning bidder informing him/her, although I'm not sure of the regulations etc. on ebay? .. (& I can't find anything in their help mentioning this kind of situation).
The buyer hasn't paid so thats ok I guess...

you dont need to do owt m8 ,the buyer hasnt paid so there is no problem there the only thing you may want to do is to try and get the fees refunded but i dont know if they will do this ,depends whats happened i suppose

there should be a non payment thingy somewhere, and don't forget the neg feedback for the non-paying idiot..

Noo, I mean, the item which I was going to ship has .. well long story but I no longer have it (it was a book) as it was given away by somebody else.. (like I say long story..) .. anyway, this means obviously I can't send it now - so I wasn't sure what to do other than mail the winning buyer before he pay's.

If you go and select the option to file a non-paying bidder alert one of the options to choose from is " .. both party's have decided to forgo the transaction .. " this way you get your fees refunded and the winner does not get any kind of non-payment warning

Well, you should email the winning bidder quick, explain the situation and apologise. Then hopefully he won't leave you negative feedback.

Really once the auction has ended it's up to the bidder whether he leaves bad feedback, or shows understanding. If you ended the auction early because of the circumstances, then it's alright.

Are you sure its under file non-paying?

"Please use care when filing a Non-Paying Bidder Alert--this Form should be used only if the high bidder is unresponsive"

110% sure mate, I had to do one last week

Its an option when you start a non-paying bidder alert (sounds strange I know) I'm sure its called No Purchase (both partys decided not to complete the deal)
