    Re: NOD32 warning

Nothing reported from my NOD32...most likely a specific advert though? Or you been browsing so many dodgy websites

EDIT: after a quick google, that website gives many hits for other websites (logitech forums etc) and they all were blocked by nod32, seems its infected alot of websites! (anything hosted on bambooz is infected)

I have read that ABP on Chrome works differently to ABP on FF. Something to do with the way Google allows you to block or not block things. Not saying that is the answer but thought I would mention it.

    Re: NOD32 warning

It's a false positive guys. I think pytalhost.net is a free host that has had viruses hosted on it at some point. I found the post in question with the image and changed it. I'll tell the user who posted it to use another host for images.

    Re: NOD32 warning

It's a false positive and only happens on NOD32.

Some [people] used the hoster (pytal.de ; with multiple other domains like pytalhost.net/com/..) to host malware ages ago, and the Eset [guys] blacklisted the entire hoster (no exceptions) instead of just the affected users (a.k.a. subdomains .. like my "bambooz.pytalhost.net").

I've had the same problem on TechPowerUp.
    http://www.techpowerup.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=162268

I'm not hosting any malware/viruses on there. It's mainly for images, schematics and other stuff.

Instead of complaining about me using said hoster, how about complaining to the Eset [guys] for blacklisting an entire hoster with millions of legitimate sites on it?
Or using an AV solution that doesn't involve shady business models like this?

I got the PM, but seriously..? Suggesting imgur as an alternative is a bit ridiculous.
They convert every image you upload (regardless of format) to JPG and compress the sh!t out of it.
I've tried to host some schematics cut-outs there before, which were uploaded as a PNG. They converted it to JPG and the compression made the whole thing unreadable.

The only thing they're good for is hosting web-trash and "funny" pictures like in their public gallery. [/imgur-rant]

I hope you meant the Hexus team, not pytal.de?! If my 5 1/2 years worth of content are gone, I'd be more than just pissed..

I'm not going to post any images on here anymore. Hope that "fixes" the crap Eset caused.

edit: I'll also go through all my posts and remove any images hosted there. If that makes the posts pointless.. not my prob.

edit2: this is the false-flagged image from the first post, hosted on my dedicated server (OVH France) instead of pytal.

Why are you throwing your toys out of your pram?

Its not the fault of Hexus that some of it's members use Eset which is actually a very good anti virus solution.

There are plenty of image hosting companies / websites out there, Photobucket or Flickr to name two of the top of my head. Instantly brandishing the makers of idiots because they decided to take action to protect its users is rather ridiculous.

And of course the Hexus web team was informed, why would they go out of their way when they can save themselves the time and effort by simply removing the offending image / add from Hexus?

I am pretty sure no one complained about you using them as a host, probably more gave a polite word about not linking to stuff hosted with them.

Also, as per the rules, there is no need for the swearing or use of words such as faggots, which people could find offensive.

Yeah chill out, so your hosting provider got black listed by an independent firm.

Its not as if its anything to do with these forums.

You know what I mean -_-

Also, if your content is work related, then surely its best not to rely entirely on somewhere online, that has been hacked in the past?
