Seeing Spain vs Japan men's football on Thursday
waaaay too much hype. The only event I would see is the womens beach volleyball
Way too much tax payers money spent out on this, I really couldn't care less and am not at all interested.
diamond jubilee > olympics
I know 2 people going to hte olympics, but they could only get tickets for the handball? Exciting eh...
I will not be going to the Olympics for 2 reasons.
1 - I live too far away.
2 and most importantly- I don't give a flying monkeys about it.
Unfortunately, without moving my family to the middle of a field in the Outer Mongolia, I will not be able to avoid it.
For those who are going or watching, have fun and enjoy it.
Yepp, I am going. I have tickets that covers me to watch a variety of shooting events (my sport) during a day. I also have a friend from my club working as a range conduct officer, she was responsible for getting one of our team into shooting and coached him for a while.
I put in for £1500 worth of tickets and didn't get any! Gave up on the 'second chance' website after than in disgust.
However my brother has somehow acquired some tickets for the men's 105kg weightlifting at some considerable expense (he plans on treating me, I disagree, even though I don't know how much they were!). I can get to Excel easily on the DLR from Lewisham so why not? I'm more into Powerlifting than Olympic Lifting but it should be impressive and exciting- the world snatch record at 105kg is 200kg- which is about what I can deadlift!
The only events that really interest me are the ones you dont see.
I bet our world leaders had a hoot during their groove festives conjuring up this for our would-be Olympics, or maybe its just Pete and his Pals disguised in one of their suits ?

Aye, got tickets for the Men's Football quarter final at St James' Park.
Off to Weymouth for the sailing, which seeing as I'm in Bristol, shouldn't be too bad.
Fed up of the commercialisation and marketing of the whole thing, though. Really fed up.
