    Golf Club attire?

    Bonjour!

Basically the bf and I are attending a music festival in a few weeks and we will be having very funky hair (mine is to be pink n purple at le front and he will have synthetic white dreads in his undercut hair) but I just realised that for the next few weeks afterwards we've got a couple of weddings to attend, the first we are just attending the reception - at a golf club.

Now, I know golf clubs are quite strict, but we can scrub up fairly smart with dress, however I'm unsure what the standard is for hair as fact is my colours wont have fully washed out (they'll be quite faded) and I can get his dreads out but he'll have a bleach white undercut (altho tbh we could just dye it black) ... is this acceptable or will they not let us through the door? I've just ehard of some places being quite strict but I assumed that as we wont actually be on the course and at a private function they might not chuck us out by the bins

    Any info is appreciated

umm, ask your mates what the dress code. if theyve sent you an invite i dont think theyd mind you asking them, id say it varies depending on the club anyway.

when i play golf, i wear cream trousers, a polo shirt and a v-neck tank-top thingy, as well as golf shoes. i may look like a prick, but it'll get you in. then again, if its a private function, there should b no dress code.

if war is the answer, then we are asking the wrong question

Golf clubs are very old fashioned. I have a feeling they will look down upon you. Its not uncommon to find golf clubs which are men only, and do not allow women inside the clubhouse. Sexist you say? They call it tradition...

But like mentioned above, if it's in a private function room, then it should be no dress code..

As long as you're dressed smartly and your hair's not a mess, it shouldn't matter what colour your hair is, you should be fine

The golf course has rented out the room for a private function so there shouldn't be any problems. They have control over members and their guests. They will still have control over members bar area but even then I don't think hair colour/style comes into it. Still remember one of the lads years ago having a big old mohican, but he always dressed right so there was never any hassle.
Hairstyle didn't really suit a diamond pattern pringle top though.

This should be accurate...Golf clubs will throw you out in an instant if you're wearing the wrong trousers, but, for some odd reason, don't throw you out for green hair - I think it's because they forgot to write the "no green hair" rule in their rule book, and they're now sticking to it.

Golf clubs are crap and people who host events at them deserve to be shot.

I got asked to leave one before and refused. It was only the fact that my boss was a long standing member that keps me in there. Who gives anyone the right to juge that just because i was wearing jeans, i am some how uncouth, or poor.

*emzay typing this at sids house*

They have DRESS CODES - u dont stick to it, u don't stay. It's like many nightclubs dont allow trainers, would you still insist that by refusing you entry they were calling you uncouth and poor?
