well if it did close down we would have to start are own forum (i refuse to go back to OC) but why would they close this forum just why!!

As has been stated a large number of people never visit the main site, similarly a large number of people never visit the forums. I'll let you conspiracy theorists work out why we set up the poll based on that statement.
I see what you mean, it sometimes feels like they are 2 seperate communities.
For what its worth I visit the main site a lot and I know a fair few other people who do (I don't know that many other people tho)

I think the front page with news and new reviews etc is very useful and well worth that extra click. I have my homepage set to the hexus.net frontpage so that I always go there first and then click on forums to get to the forums.
Simple.
Nine times out of ten I'll find something worth checking out on the frontpage too.
i go onto the hexus frontpage all the time and i have to say when i never noticed a poll bit even when i looked i found it hard .

why not put a huuuge banner on the front page that says "we have forums" and a huuuge banner on the forums thats says "we have a main site with news and reviews"
that way every 1 knows about both sites
as for those voting to shut the forums its probably ocuk members

Exactly what I do, I think the main page is invaluable, I dunno where else I would go to get all the latest H/W and IT related news!
Most forums I've visited have a link to the main homepage at the top of each forum thread page, usually the large title graphic. In Hexus' case this leads to the forums homepage and not the main Hexus homepage. Frequently I've wanted to go to the main Hexus page but have had to search for the link to get me there. It's not exactly prominent down at the bottom, is it? IIRC Az or Shorty stating that the main image had to link to the forums homepage to meet some accessability legislation but how about a similarly prominent image up there as well linking to the homepage?

This is a very good community a helpful place a place to chat amongst other people a place to share knowledge and most importantly a place to make friends.
