    Angry Headaches

I get them all the time, but today it feels like I'm being repeatedly stabbed in the head. I took two paracetamol a couple of hours ago and it's back already, so now I've done two Ibuprofen too. Is there anything I can do short of popping painkillers like they're going out of fashion?

Ibuprofen do some wicked Migraine painkillers which work a treat - or if nothing else works I usually find that Panadol are good.

However, getting away from you computer and getting some sleep would probably do you wonders!!!

Hope you feel better soon. x

Find something to concentrate on, e.g a game or a book and just concentrate on it. Normally this makes me forget about the headache and by the time ive finished its gone.

It might help, but I've been getting them with varying degrees of severity for years. 4 or 5 years ago the first thing I did when I woke up was pop a couple of painkillers and go back to sleep for 20 minutes, that was how certain it was that I'd have a headache. At that point I didn't have a computer and drank about once every two weeks.

Edit: seems like the Ibuprofens have done the trick. I just hope my liver can cope....

Ok, second piece of medicinal advice:

take one large bottle of vodka/jack daniels/bacardi/malibu(?)/tequila

and drink til it doesnt hurt anymore!!!!

In the morning, the new headache you have will make you forget about the one you had the night before!

(I know, Im not helping.... I'll get my coat!)

well whenever i get a headache i sometimes find that punching affected part of head works for me, of course you will probably lose one 30 minute school class per punch and look like an idiot but it works...for me anyway
    well just my two cents

I'm on the booze now- but I suspect that last night's intake may jhave contributed to today's headache

By my usual standards I wasn't amazingly drunk last night and I got plenty of sleep though

    Rich, mate!

If you are getting that many headaches, FFS go see someone medical. While it is unlikely to be a brain tumour, it could well be some underlying problem... Most likely stress or fatigue, or merely dehydration.

Either way mate, if you're experiencing regular pains of the head...

    Get it checked... NOW

Well, I've never been to the doctor about it but when I first started to get them regularly I asked my flatmate's gf (who at the time was a junior doctor) and she said there wasn't much could be done. Brain tumours don't hurt much apparently.

Seriously Rich... If you ARE getting them regularly, then there is an underlying trend. Now, it is very unlikely to be a tumour or anything close, but, there must be something in your metabolism/diet/body management that is not on par. It might merely be that you are deficient in sodium. Now how much of a relief would that be. "Just eat more salt young Rave" and it will never happen again...

Stop hiding young Rich... How long did you say you've been suffering? About time you bit the bullet my friend

I'm not scared of doctors m8- last time I went I asked him to have a look at my chalfonts. Still, I suppose a second opinion to my flatmates gf wouldn't hurt....

I did, sounds nasty m8- the pain from my bunch 'o grapes wasn't quite fainting territory but I suffered a few sleepless nights until I discovered Anusol HC suppositories- which are TBH the most miraculous medicine ever invented.

The pain from that examination was nothing compared to my (unescessary as it turned out ) visit to the clap clinic<crosses legs>.
