That is something we will never know - it was an extreme reaction, and if they hadn't called, something else might have triggered it, or if another nurse had been on duty, the outcome would probably have been different.

My gripe is the fact that they thought it appropriate to make a hoax call to a hospital, in the name of a 'prank' for a cheap laugh at someone else's discomfiture, in an attempt to boost their own popularity.
