I filled it too, but some people are gonna fall for it. Reckon we should tell ebay? I am still pissed off with ebay for nicking my cash, but they only stole £1.71, whereas these scammers can steal a lot. Some people make me sick.

And noone better say that "someone foolish enough to believe it deserves it". For i will smite you with my smiting stick.

    /me smites shiato_storm with a smiting stick.

Would you like to kick a defenseless puppy while you are at it?

Do you think people who are not into computers and hence get easilly confused don't deserve to live as they are obviously inferior?

It saddens me to see this. Especially as you didn't put a "Ooh, don't you see i was being all funny and joky and ironic and hence can say any bull****" smily.

I think i asked people to take this as a serious situation. I am not the boss of anyone and everyone is entitled to their opinions. And no, i don't think shiato was trying to be rude or that he thinks that "someone foolish enough to believe it deserves it". But some people do. And it makes me sad. Which is why I wanted to raise this issue in this thread. Maybe i should have put an "Ooh, don't you see i was being all funny and joky and ironic and hence can say any bull****" smily myself. But i don't feel like laughing.

Sadly Joe Sixpack is pretty naive when it comes to the security of the web. The media could have been used as a sensible vector to advice web common sence , but all they seem to care about is the chat rooms full of kiddy fiddlers that are on every website you come accross ( if you belive mass media )

The same people that fall for confidence tricks in real life would fall for an online con, its just that its a lot easier to reach a lot more foolsih people.

I did. Hence i put that line about the missing smily. I am just not in a joky mood myself today.

I'll tell you this though - my mom is not gullible. She firmly believes that there is no free lunch. She is suspicious of any lotteries, discount offers or any other junk that comes through the post. She is not fooled by "amazing sale offers" or anything like that. She is semi-competent when it comes to computers too. She wouldn't fall for this, but if an email came pretending to be from a bank asking her to confirm her login details on some web page she would ask me to check it out. Because she is not sure. But some people won't have a son to ask about it. Won't have any reason to doubt it and won't see that the link takes them to somewhere other than the bank. I don't think they should be considered fair game.

    Jesus! Calm your passion!

Some people are of the belief that the stupid should be allowed to make their mistakes. I happen to agree with you that this is not fair, but they are entitled to their beliefs.

You are ranting and it isn't gonna get any of us anywhere.
