    YoYoTech

One for the Londoners - just took a stroll to gaze at cases in YoYoTech, and it's all shuttered up. Anyone know what's happened to them? Have they moved location/been wound up/gone bust/etc?

    Re: YoYoTech

    They went bust last month.

    http://www.channelweb.co.uk/crn-uk/n...ps-up-yoyotech

For me, they never really adapted well enough to the online / offline mode. The price difference between their website and store was quite big at times. If you pulled out your smartphone it was rather irksome. You'd look at a keyboard online, think "hmm that could be good" go to the store and its £20 more.

They never solved that problem which when they briefly had the hexus forum, was really brought up a lot.

They also ignored the much better margined services industry

thanks for reply. So another firm now owned by a venture capital firm if I've understood who this centerprise outfit are...

I know what you mean about price differential. Got my case from their store and paid for the privilege. This from their website http://www.yoyotech.co.uk/about-us:

They need to add, and pay extra at the till than the price you thought you'd get.

    Re: YoYoTech

Ah, that's a shame. Mind you, I've never bought more than a hard drive from them - because it was an emergency and I was in the vicinity.

Are there any good enthusiast shops around in London, where you can see gaming cases and the like in the flesh?

Not anymore. There are some on TCR that do have cases, but they're small, narrow aisled and the staff in some of them are pretty fly to say the least. For all the pricing issues YoYoTech were good at letting you browse, explore and knowledgeable (mostly). And their store was large enough to have a good range on display. Real shame they're gone.

I remember going there in Sept 2012 to buy a wireless ADSL router as it was lowest price available and charged me the same price as listed on their web store. There was hardly any customer in the shop when I visited it during lunchtime afternoon.

So what. That's exactly what I'd do. Often these complaints are complex and not best aired in public.
