    spiders on a wall i can cope with as i can squash them from afar, but spiders on me nononono several times in the past i've been sat at my desk when ive seen a huge dark thing move up my legs and i tell you not even elisha cuthbert naked could get me jeans off as quick as a spider can , but theres always a bit of satisfaction as you find it and then squash it slowly while it makes that crunching noise

    PS any1 who likes spiders is a freak

    I had one make a spider web in front of my monitor once... while I was using it.

    The cheeky blighter!

    I'm sure there's a statistic that's something along the lines of the fact that you're never more than 3 metres away from a spider.

    You have to admit that in the scare: size ratio they are teh winnars.

    I don't mind spiders overly much - so long as they stay away and off me, I'm usually happy enough. Otherwise, I get a broom or two. Hopefully they don't then start ninja-roping, Worms-style (Spin a line and use it to swing down from the ceiling to avoid the broom). That's freaky stuff.

    Actually this reminds me of a programme I watched a couple of weeks back about exotic insects and the likes. I shall provide the story:

    Two spiders, both different types. One is sat on its web, the other is wondering around looking for food (other spiders.) This spiders sees the one on the web and devises a plan to capture it. The other spider has poor vision and doesn't see it sneak over to the web. The spider than starts shacking the web to make the other spider think something is caught. However, lunch won't come that easily, as the other spider smells a trap, and starts bouncing the web to get it off.

    The spider gives in... so it seems.

    Shortly after, the spider reappears, this time on a leaf some height above the other spider's web. The spider lowers itself on a strand of web... slowly... silently. It ends up leve with its other spider friend... and has it for lunch.

    It's the most sophisticated hunting techniques ever seen in a creature of that size.

    $s = new signature();
    $s->sarcasm()->intellect()->font('Courier New')->display();

    Spiders are creepy and disgusting. No matter how cool or sophisticated they are, that fact doesn't change.

    Some of the spiders we get are somewhat unhealthful if they bite. I am all for killing those. I don't like creepy eight legged things crawling over me when I sleep. That is just not nice of the disgusting little things. I am for killing those as well.

    I hope you still kill poisonous spiders if they get into your house. I would not want to be so close to remove one from mine. Yihghkh.
    I wonder what I should put in my signiture...

    I do try not to kill them these days, but some of the larger ones that we have, well, it's as much as I can do to get near enough to splat them. I tried the "bowl, cardboard, open back door, throw" removal trick on one - trust me, a cup? Not on THIS puppy - but I could feel and hear it moving around on the cardboard, and I wimped and got the other half to remove it *ahem* permanently...

    damned spiders get everwhere, there were all these smallish about 1/2 cm spiders on my wall and one decided to start living in my tft, until i scared him and he was confined to the toilet.

    spiders can run damn fast if they want to!

    i just hate spiders webs how they appear on everything and they stick and annoy the hell out of me when i feel them on me, i dunno whats happened!

    Which would you rather have?

    Spiders...

    Or big hovering, slavering, disease infested things that walk on dog-poo then your dinner. Then when they decide to eat it, they vomit on it... I mean, as if the dog doo-doo aint enough, they show utter contempt for us humans and get sick on our food. Then alien like, lay there sticking vomity eggs in our sausages.

    Support your spider friends, they need you!!!! Death to all flies!!!!

    I dont mind spiders as much as beetles and moths .

    Only the other week one of those black shiny beetles with large horns got in my boot ovenight. I got up and put on the boot and was walking around for about 5min on what I thought was a stone untill I realised it was moving . When I turned my boot upside-down the beetle fell out and skuttled happily away despite me having put my full weight on it a few times .

    I've got to admit, Rob has got a point. Why do we even have this contempt of small, creepy arthropods anyway?
