Re: What would your dream house be?

The first thing that pops into my head is that my dream house would be paid for, with no mortgage hanging around my neck.

Other than that, something a bit bigger than my current place - bigger bedrooms, a separate office / study (ideally an out building) and a bit of land (nothing major but more than a postage stamp and some space to turn the car round would be nice...)

Friends of the family built this

Its a fantastic place, and unlike old castles has modern electrics, central heating, etc. Plenty of fishing in the lake as well Always amazes me how much of the work they did themselves, even down to digging the lake, and John learnt how to repair stained glass windows.

    Something like this: http://edition.cnn.com/2013/12/12/wo...t-garde-homes/

If we are going wild, then make it big enough to add trampolines and zip liners

And all the modern tech too (LAN cable, wall speakers, voice activated features etc.).
