ummm - this will be interesting as video, image and audio files are already compressed formats. you'll probably find the archive actually increases in size with the addition of ECC bits.
better off using ghost as it's effectively the equivalent of tape. set it to no compression, or if you want to try and see - compress it and see how far you go.

funniest thing ever was a guy in my office trying to compress a file to get it to a client's mail system... even the marketing girls knew it wasn't going to work... when I finally got aronud to looking at his problem he'd increased an 800k document to about 20mb by zipping... and zipping ... and zipping - probably 80-90 times - I lost intrest about 5 deep. very amusing tho!
