So how are you lovely HEXUS readers doing?

It's been busy at HEXUS towers recently - with bit-tech now becoming part of the family and HEXUS steaming full steam ahead it's fab!

How are you all doing? What is new with you? Any moved? Any had a baby? Anyone got any exam results?

We have also moved offices from Elstree to a new facility in St Albans - anyone local?

Come on - share what's fab in your life.

    David

Re: So how are you lovely HEXUS readers doing?

    absolutely awful.

someone deliberately knocked me off my bicycle today, my gps logs show that 22mph in the 20 zone wasn't enough for him, slowest rolling I did was 18mph. Spent the morning in A&E, now unable to work, I'm going to loose thousands whilst I heal, I've got to find cash to hire someone to fill in as a programmer. All because he had some road rage.

I'm not saying more on that because the police are investigating and my corporate lawyer fancies practising some tort for me, I was lucky to have whitnesses.

I hope the police press charges, as he apparently told one person he did it on purpose and that I deserved it. I'll be honest, the thought of murder at this point is appealing. I'll chalk it up to the drugs.

On topic, all OK, was chasing a contract, but didn't get it (I suspect went to internal promotion, and advertising was to tick the box0, but a couple of ventures in the pipeline.

But in good health, fiter than I have been for a while, and enjoying the summer sun

St Albans is a nice town, nightmare for rush hour traffic but then again what town round here isn't? On the plus side, local ale's quite good

I'll be honest, you only have to look at past met + CPS prosecutions, that even if he told the officers he did it on purpose, it probably won't be charged with anything.

The bicycle is mostly fine, just a bar end a bit damaged and the shock apparently broke the front light and phone holder (luckily not in use today!). Actual impact speed I would guess to be about double walking pace, so yeah, my damage mostly came from my mass and gravity, I think the car absorbed most of the force, judging by my cloathing and scrapes, I moved at most 2cm whilst striking the ground.

I get pissed off with the police, as I over heard one of the 4 officers commenting at least he was wearing a helmet, the helmet does absolutely chuff all when someone intentionally tries to injure you.

I will be sure to post a full apology if the police do anything useful without me chasing them to charge, or do anything more than gather evidence for my civil suite.

you will laugh, but I've lent all my go pros to a friend for 2 months, that said, I wouldn't have had it on anyway, I seldom have issues on my commute.

Funnily I remarked to one of the paramedics about that, she said, do not mount them on helmets, as apparently she has seen an accident made worse by a camera stuck to the helmet.

I'm very lucky I just had my tax refund, so I can afford not to earn money for a while, my newest company can not afford to pay me, take the productivity hit and fund a contractor for a month. I'm also lucky it's big enough that I've got enough money to for legal action should it come to it.

Sorry to hear that TA while I'm not a fan of our litigation culture , would there be a case for a (un)civil action ? Loss of earning would be considerable.

I'm fine thanks, but having loads of boiler problems at home at the moment. I have British Gas Homecare, but I have little confidence in their ability to fix the problem - I've had them out four times in the past week! Still, better to have the boiler go wrong now, than in the middle of Winter I suppose!

I'm just on the outskirts of St Albans - is the new Hexus HQ wheelchair accessible by any chance?

Sad to hear you've had some complete numpty do for you then I'm constantly surprised that I haven't had a bump on my current commute, I tend to get two near misses each way. Hope you recover quickly, and the idiot gets some form of justice meted out.

    As for me?

I'm pretty good, kind of busy - my day job's only meant to be 0.6fte but there's so much needs doing I've been authorised to work up to full time if necessary - going pretty well except my overtime claim got turned down this month and no-one seems to know who's meant to sign it anymore (this is after 3 months of them paying fine, despite the signatories on those claims apparently not being authorised. Chuffing HR... ). In the time I'm meant to have off I'm trying to do some music (not really happening) and some freelance sound work: that's going a bit better as I'm recording and editing a fortnightly geek quiz for a mate, which means I'm getting loads of useful experience (no money though, of course!). Actually, he's always looking for more contestants if anyone up Manchester way fancies testing their geek knowledge (and if you're not up Manchester way but can afford the time off you'd be more than welcome to crash at mine and have a couple of days in Manchester while you're at it ). The quiz is going to end up as a podcast and the first one should be going online in the next couple of weeks, so if I remember I'll stick a link up somewhere

I visited St Albans once (it's down my dad's neck of the woods) and quite enjoyed it - if I've got time next time I'm down visiting dad I could always stick my nose in
