I have similar - those two days a week are all the justification for a bread maker that I need.

Not if you're in the USA it's not. Apologies to TeePee and any other Americans reading this but bacon over there is typically served as shrivelled up, fatty, overcooked carbon.
Of course, most Americans I know find a British cut of bacon to be far too meaty, but really, how is that ever a problem?
