Edit: No, ninja'd! I will have my revenge Galant!
Personally i feel petitions and other such protesting directed at stopping someone from doing something is a bit of an oxymoron, i mean they're exercising their freedoms in an attempt to curtail the freedoms of another, if you object to someones views you shouldn't be attempting to prevent those views from being heard you should engage and explain why those views are wrong.
Besides most previous petitions to parliament have all but been ignored, if these 1m+ people truly object to Trumps views then arrange for peaceful protests when he comes to visit, get the media to challenge him, to explain to him why a not Muslim ban is giving the terrorists what they crave the most.
This is an interesting corollary:

We do politics all the time with people who ban people based on nation.
throw new ArgumentException (String, String, Exception)
We need a third petition. One says "prevent a STATE VISIT because it's an embarrassment to the Queen. The other says he should get State visit.
What about those supporting him NOT getting a State Visit, but nothing to do with embarrassment to HM Liz?
Personally, I think Luzcis a tough ol' gal, and has stomached FAR worse than Trump.
Personally, I don't think he should be invited for a STATE visit because :-
1) He's a total <bleep>. I thought thus long before che stood for Prez.
2) It's a singular honour, and way too early anyway.
However, the PM saw fit to invite him, and uninviting him now would, IMHO, be clearly contrary to national interest. That is, it's too late, the horse has bolted, the ship has sailed and the bridge is totally burned.
As for the general situation, re: protests, petitions, etc I think ....
1) They will make no difference
2) It's a relatively free country, so people should petition and/or protest if they wish. That's a benefit of our sort-of almost democracy.
3) Just don't expect to get your way if you do.
And as for Trump, I think at least he's doing more or less what he said he wpuld. In most areas, anyway. Some, I even agree with. Some.
But if nothing else, saying you'll do X to get elected, then actually trying to do it makes a refreshing change from the lying rear-ends that most politicians are. May THAT feature, at least, of Trump's technique catch on. Imagine.
Why not Saudi? Or Pakistan, for that matter?
Because, as I understand it, the Saudi and Pakistani governments cooperate with the US, UK etc, on in-depth vetting of visa applicants. The governments on the 'banned seven' do not, or cannot.
So .... if the objective is about keeping undesirable, questionable or known risky individuals OUT, then in the absence of cooperation on in-depth vetting, letting those nations in is a complete punt.
What Trump said on the campaign was, paraphrasing, "keep Muslims out until we can sort out what the hell is going on".
The policy interpretation of that appears to be to temporarily prevent individuals from the banned seven, while .... according to the White House .... sorting out the extreme vetting issues.
And, after all, with ISIS being driven back in Syria and Iraq, among others, the notion of some of the foreign fighters that went there to fight for ISIS leaving and seeking to go elsewhere to cause mayhem is entirely plausible, if not actually probable.
While I doubt even Trump would guarantee that this 'ban' will keep ALL terrorists out, it's hard to argue that a real threat doesn't exist, and that if this measure, affecting people for whom extreme vetting has been hard or impossible, then in the interests of protecting US citizens, at home, prevents even some getting in, then at least as a stop-gap temporary measure, it's HIS call to make.
I wonder if that famous "The Buck Stops Here" plaque still sits on the desk in the Oval? Because now, the buck stops with Trump, and if there is a successful attack, he'll have to justify having done everythinv he could to prevent it.
What is funny is that the Iraqi air force has bought some aircraft from the US including a few dozen F16s,and it seems the pilots cannot complete their training in the US. Then you have the ban probably affecting people like this lady:

You might have heard of the Ansari X-Prize??
Yep,she is a dual US-Iranian national.
The problem is less the order, but the way its been rushed through without consultation.Anousheh Ansari (Persian: انوشه انصاری; née Raissyan;[1] born September 12, 1966, in Mashhad, Iran) is an Iranian-American engineer and co-founder and chairwoman of Prodea Systems. Her previous business accomplishments include serving as co-founder and CEO of Telecom Technologies, Inc. (TTI). The Ansari family is also the title sponsor of the Ansari X Prize. On September 18, 2006, a few days after her 40th birthday, she became the first Iranian in space.[2] Ansari was the fourth overall self-funded space traveler, and the first self-funded woman to fly to the International Space Station. Her memoir, My Dream of Stars, co-written with Homer Hickam, was published by Palgrave Macmillan in 2010.[3]
Also,SA will never been sanctioned even though it is the seat of Wahhabist Islam, and the Pakistani ISI has some very dubious links to islamists too(in the case of the latter its actually kind of backfired it appears).
They former is one of the biggest importers of weapons in the world - they splashed $30 billion alone on 84 F15SA and 70 upgrades of older F15 fighters which have kept the production lines open in the US and secured 1000s of jobs.
In 2015 they were the biggest importer of weapons in the entire world:

Edit!!
Pakistan and the UAE are on that list.
Funny how the more weapons you import from us,the less human rights or terrorism actually matters!
Also look at how much we import when compared to the French and Germans who are not on the list. All the rhetoric about keeping jobs in the UK - LOL.

You might want to look at the list - in 2015 France and Germany hardly imported any weapons and produced the majority of new defence materiel in their own countries. We are the only Western European country on the list. The US is not even on the list as even their foreign weapons systems have to be made in the US.
Its no wonder if you actually start to look at some of the new purchases we have made - in the past we would attempt to assemble them here, etc and now not even that happens.
For instance the WAH64D Apaches are being replaced by US built AH64E models with US made engines. The WAH64D used RTM322 engines shared with our Merlins too which used to be built in the UK. The WAH64 was assembled in Yeovil at AugustaWestland/Leonardo(and used a number of UK sourced parts like the engines for example),now that same site is now cutting jobs it appears and several other UK based sites associated with the company. Even RR sold the RTM322 programme to its partner, and its no wonder when they figured out we probably would be buying T700 engined AH64E helicopters instead.
But considering we are literally buying Chinese made versions of a French reactor design for our new generation nuclear power plants, its not surprising TBH. This idiotic short-termism is the same reason why we ended up buying French steel for our latest submarines and why the Aussies are buying 12 attack submarines(basically a conventional powered version of their nuclear power attack submarines) from the French and not us.

What does it matter now if men believe or no?
What is to come will come. And soon you too will stand aside,
To murmur in pity that my words were true
