Do you all insure your bikes on your contents insurance or get dedicated insurance? And who with?

I just bought an el cheapo ProBike for £120, alu frame. Since I will be leaving it at the Train Station every weekday, I think I will get it insured. any suggestions?

[QUOTE=starside]Do you all insure your bikes on your contents insurance or get dedicated insurance?[quote]

My bike (2003 Specialized Hardrock Pro Disc) is only covered my our contents insurence, and only if its locked up in the garage/store. Which it is allmost all the time im not out on it. And i lock with specialized's best code lock even if im just geting paper from the village shop.
    - I ahve though of getting it insured, but im not sure its worth it. Basic rule of thumb with insurence is if you can afford to lose it, dont insure it.
    - Insurence companys make money, therefore, on average, you lose out!

Erm, not sure if you're a troll, but posting your mobile number on a forum is generally not a good idea....

    Re: Mountain Bike Recommendation

BMI is pretty meaningless isn't it? BM is fat/muscle/water/bone/tissue - and the composition is surely relevant to ideal weight? An Index requires personal measurement imo.

For £400 minimise your "extras" - get a hardtail with front sus and V brakes so the bigger part of your layout goes into the frame. The frame is everything. I would also look into geting a quality second hand bike for that money.

I think you should go check out Evans Cycles:

    www.evanscycles.com

There's probably one near you, and they'll let you have a test, and will be able to give you plenty of advice. Plus you get your 1st service free from them. I just bought a Trek 7.2 for commuting from them and it's exactly what I needed.

My folks' neighbour who is REALLY into his cycling - he has a carbon fibre framed racer worth over £1k recommended them to me.

Imho, a bike is not just about the fancy list of bits you get for your money; you have to be sure your body isn't compensating (knees, back or wrists) for something that isn't quite right. When a bike fits, you want to be on it and it won't end up in the shed.
