    Exclamation HELP With Scan Rma!!!!

    hey,

recnetly rma my ati 9700 pro to scan, it messed up after 2 months

they found the fault the other day but then got an email claiming the gfx card is not their product and they wont fix it!!!!

this is what i was told today in an email:

    ******
The individual reason for the rejection is as follows:

Item inside box is not Scan’s product (serial numbers do not match).

We are very sorry we cannot assist any further in this matter. With regards to your item(s) I can confirm that they have tested and confirmed to contain no fault.
    *******

this is absolute rubbish!!! Using the RMA page on scan i tracked
my card, someone called John S testesd the card and found the fault, and wrote down "graphix + screen corruption"

now they're saying the serial doesnt match up and wont fix it. Obviously lying through there teeth to avoid getting me a new card

Not sure what to do, any help would be greatly appreciated

Did you see my post about NEVER buying or recommending Scan? or should I say Scam?

Note: these are my views. not those representative of Hexus.net or any affiliated members.

And i happily echo coco's statement on the matter. Scan and dabs i stay well away from.

(again, my opinion on the matter and nothing to do with HEXUS.net)

Personally I've had excellent service from dabs on a return, but I'd never buy anything from overclockers... Shows that this kind of thing is a matter of personal experience.

I'd reccomend checking this site: http://www.romulus2.com/feedback/chart.php?1 before using a new retailer.

I'll never buy from Scam again either. Sorry to hear about them pulling this scam on you.

I'd go to the citizen's advice bureau and see what they can do for you.

The CAB cant offer no legal advice, they can only give you a few leaflets and point you to Trading standards (who are very very good in most cases)

I have personally bought 4000 quids worht of kit from them I recon and not had any problems - with RMA that is. Even the servers which HEXUS uses are bought in from there.

Just got a reply from them.

    Your Box...

    Your Card

The serial numbers clearly don't match...

I suppose that its possilbe that the card & box where incorrectly labled at source , but its going to be a grey area.
