    Caps Lock: On

    Help!

Recently, for no apparent reason, whenever I press caps lock, number lock or scroll lock, I get an annoying pop up message in the corner of my screen, saying "CAPS LOCK: ON" or "CAPS LOCK: OFF" (obviously with CAPS substituted with NUM when I press Number Lock).

I have searched tirelessly on Google for some help, and all I can find is something to do with 'Filterkeys'. However, I have been right through the options of Fliterkeys, and there is no option for 'CAPS LOCK: ON'.

Could someone please tell me how to remove this bloody annoyance, or else I'm gonna have to reinstall Windows.

Oh, and the reason I put this in General Discussion, was because I wanted to see if other people actually like this feature? If so, I'd be interested to see why....

No hate it, have you by chance installed drivers from your keyboard manufacturer, or updated them. My logitech keyboard drivers put the screen display for caps lock n by default, just turn off in the keyboard control panel.

IIRC this isn't filterKeys, it's logitech's keyboard software. Try having a look through their options instead.
Now go away before I taunt you a second time.

The picture quality isn't great, soz.

Oh, there is of course "CAPS LOCK: ON" "CAPS LOCK:OFF", "NUM LOCK: ON" "NUM LOCK: OFF" etc etc, and in the pic I have shown the Number Lock off and Caps lock on.

Thanks for any help you guys can give.

Erm, I have a standard PS/2 notebook keyboard on my Dell Inspiron 8600. I have installed no extra drivers for it, only SP/2.

Its still the wrong place to post the thread in my opinion, but learn how to use the damn edit button PLEASE.

    Its caused by the BTTray.

"you can easily disable the keyboard indicators by creating a .reg file with the following content, and double click on it.

    ---- snip ----
    REGEDIT4
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Widcomm\BTConfig\General]
    "KeyIndication"=dword:00000000
    ---- snip ----

    Hope that helps

Ok, I just tried your idea TiG, but it hasn't worked. What else could be causing this problem?

    Btw, I do have BlueTooth

    #EDIT#
I rebooted, and it worked! Nice one TiG.

Oh and TiG, I deleted you on MSN anyway, so you don't have to bother blocking me.
