Unfortunately, it's hardly uncommon in "freemium" games.

    http://prntscr.com/oe644k

Here are the odds of a certain Square Enix mobile game in Japan.

Probability of hitting the "jackpot" is 0.38%, which averages at 1-in 263. Let's say 260.

Each "roll" of 10 is 3000 yen, except the first one which is 2000 yen.

So 2000 + (3000*25) = 77000 yen. About £570 pound, and it is still only an average so you can definitely miss it.

I think that you are responsible for securing the device to ensure that no one can empty your account without your knowledge/permission. I also think that it is ultimately the user life priority, and as long as they are spending their own money and not spending beyond their means, then whatever makes them happy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z-fxfuWhff0

On the other hand, and the reason why I think I started this post with the word "unfortunately", is that I find this kind of game, which is so popular in Japan because Japanese are big spenders on games featuring "rolls" (loot box et al.) that it is the only kind of games you see on mobiles in Japan nowadays. Some games do have fairly high production value (good graphics, good music, fully voice acted by popular voice actors, and constant content updates).. but they all tend to have fairly simplistic gameplay mechanics and storyline (most of those games are supposed to have some kind of storyline). I think that those games have their place, but I also wish that the country that came up with many console classics in the 90s wouldn't through all of that creativity away in the mobile gaming space..
