I think you'll find Zak was referring to the hypocrisy of the scene...

I haven't seen it myself, but since this is modern TV I'd guess this was about how explicit the scenes were and thus totally out of keeping with the book. I feel the same about many modern shows, like True Blood, Spartacus, and so on. It's meant to be television, not porn!

It wasn't hypocracy though, she is a Van Helsing and only joined the nuns for the benefits it offered her in her hunt for Dracula...she made that very clear.

Personally I really liked it, you have to go back a VERY long way to find a Dracula that adhered to the book, the details of the story has morphed over the years and everyone who does a Dracula production adds and takes away from the original.

I thought the main characters were very good, the elements of humor were a good addition and overall it was a very polished production.
The undead coming out of the crate was my only critism though, reminded me of the old sinbad film special effects.

Like I said, I haven't seen it (yet), but it sounds like the nun is reproachingly asking the guy if he is essentially homosexual*, while having admitted she is herself.
    Is that correct?

*Are you technically also a necrophile, if your gay lover is undead?

Re: BBC Dracula - what on earth was that old nonsense about?

I've watched the first episode, and enjoyed it.

There is no porn, the Mina/dracula thing is face-only, but the implication is they're doing rudies.

Will definitely be watching the 2nd episode, if I can find time between the wife's many variations on baking programs. And Death in Paradise, of course.
