BBC Dracula - what on earth was that old nonsense about?

Made it to the end of the first one... looked at my missus.. she looked at me....

not wasting my time on that rubbish anymore. I guess if that's the new era of Moffat TV..... I'm not interested in the feintest.

the nun was funny in places. The time lapse of undead getting out of crates would certainly have been effective had other things been filmed similarly, but in that context, it looked like an A level project.

load of nonsense in my opinion.

Anyone love it... by all means tell me what I missed and I might try it again.

In my other thread about it thought it was really good. But you can't please everyone and everyone will have their own opinions whether they like something or not. In that regard it would be impossible to say to someone what they might have missed, you either like it or you don't

I loved it, really enjoyed watching it and found that it went by way too fast, which is a good sign....

Only bit I didn't like was an early plot device in episode 3 that was a bit silly in the context of the show, but the rest of it I found really entertaining. A clever interpretation of the story imo.

I am interested in what the other episodes of Dr Who will bring without Chibnall who seems to want to teach us a bit of history in each episode it seems however that is for another thread

I watched it, it was ok, they could have stretched it out for a few more episodes as the last one felt a bit rushed to me..

As soon as a nun is asking a bloke if he has sex with Dracula, while admitting that she fancies another nun herself.. my brain tuned out totally.

Given how the show became less about the eponymous Timelord and promoted the Assistants to modern day politically correct Companions, it was more like 'The Romances, Lives and Adventures of the Companions'. I understand, from the wife who is also a modern era Whovian, that Dracula was indeed an absolute Moffat Mess even by her standards.

That killed it for me too, plus the flashback images of Mina changing to Dracula on top of Harker

Great that he used the castle which was used for the set of Nosferatu 1921 (IIRC), but ruined by the sexual stuff, which was most definitely not in the book.

I lasted about 28 minutes Shant bother with the rest.

Ah, what a delicate, sensitive little flower you are, even a reference to gay sex spoils your cornflakes, life must be so difficult what with all the constant references to straight sex out there that presumably affect you similarly

The book, albeit iconic, was absolute rubbish, and yes, there absolutely was sexual stuff in there, just not explicit, the same way the Alien films don't knock you about the head going 'THIS IS ABOUT RAPE. LOOK. RAPE. ALL OF IT. RAPE.'

I'm so sorry that the sexual references turn you off so very much.
