Most people do wear headphones... I have to say that the problem I have with my office at the moment is the complete opposite! There may be 15 or so people in there, but sometimes it is SOOO quiet! (Probably cos everyone has headphones on!)
I feel conscious of making telephone calls sometimes; it’s like being in a library!

I have had the constant nattering issue in the past though and it is VERY annoying!!!! (One person in particular who just used to constantly natter to anyone who was listening... argh!)

I've had a lot of sobering thoughts in my time.... It was them that started me drinking.

i use a combination of headphones and instant message/email - if someone really wants to talk to me - they can tap me on the shoulder or even call. i suppose it's different as I had a surround system on my desk which I was only allowed to use after 5 - any other time I had to use cans.

I dont think I would be allowed to use headphones at work tbh, they hav no issues with me playing music aloud when its gone 5 but I work 'upstairs' with all the General Managers etc so need to keep on my toes...... except for the zillion times I check Hexus each day that is!

Music is great in the office tho.... especially if its drowning out all the whinging voices.

Mine's pretty small and quiet , only a small business.

When the phone rings after 10 mins of peaceful quiet you will often catch me scream out of fright

Our office is pretty sweet and laid back - David can vouch for that the last time he popped in.

At the moment I can hear some random "hard house" playing in the background along with a fair few collegues on the phone and also a few discussing the holidays.

Occasionally the noise can drive me demented but I just think of the silence I'll be having at home when in the bath so that keeps me going till later on

I work in an open plan office. Pain in the arse.

My pet annoyance is someone who ALWAYS uses their speakerphone to dial, and lets it ring and ring and ring, even when it's obvious the other person ISN'T GOING TO ANSWER!!

Oh your so right on this one - I've got a fan next to my desk to keep me cool because all the women in the office insist on keeping the air-con set at tropical conditions
