help please : what do you look for in an online PC shop

    Hello there

I have an e-commerce module for Uni, Just wondering, if you could help me

When you buy your PC bits online what’s ‘most’ important to you? (edit just noticed i can add my own poll.. i am a nOOb)

    1) Website appearance
    2) Security of the site
    3) Service/reputation
    4) Range of goods
    5) Price of P&P

Thanks in advance for your replies

For me its reputation, how easy I can return my goods if they become faulty, (had some bad experiences in the past).

Hmmm.. i would probably say Service/Reputation. There is a lot of very good built websites around, with good security, cheap P&P and a wide range of goods, but there service is crap.

Reputation and Range, I've paid extra sometimes to order from somewhere that won't cock my order up and has decent customer service.

I go first and foremost on reputation. I don't like buying from unknowns. Range doesn't matter to me as I might be buying something very specific.

The second thing I look at is a well designed site. Somebody who can't put a decent enough site together doesn't deserve my money. Imagine walking into a shop to find it's in a right state. You wouldn't hang about, would you?

    Price of goods

Also for me, the options they give for how long the goods take to get delivered. I've found a few sites that give a better choice of delivery but they sometimes don't have the best range of stock to suit all.

Security of the site is most important. If it aint secure and https up i aint even looking at it, its the first thing i look for, check out the shopping basket etc see if all my details are being entered over HTTPS. Thats the primary concern and if more people thought like me thered be a helluva lot less internet credit card fraud in the world.
