Yes, me too ... with the same caution that I would with any other company I knew nothing of. Both any reputation, good or bad, CCL or Box may have had in the past is now meaningless to me, and I'd treat both new operations as completely unknown quantities.

I won't touch them. Still remember the fleecing they were doing during covid. And the surprising correlation between their overpriced offerings being listed shortly after the sensibly priced stores had just sold out with items "due in 3-5 days". Fishy much?

Scan looked after me during that period (as they always have). I will continue to go to them first and foremost as a result.

I don't think CCL or Box were doing anything over the covid period that any other company wasn't doing? Ridiculous prices yes, but it was a bit of a ridiculous time, really. I've used CCL quite a few times in the past, & never had a problem with them, but that said, I never had anything major go wrong with any of my orders with them. Scan however, now that's a different matter. Years ago they messed me around (putting it politely) for weeks over a damaged PC case they sent me, which was never sorted out to my satisfaction. So I swore after that fiasco that I'd never buy from them again, and I haven't.

Yeah I had a nightmare over a Motherboard with Scan and have done the same thing. I've largely converted to Ballicom.
The only problem is I don't think any trackers monitor them so I can't get notified when products fall in price when I'm on the lookout.

    Re: CCLonline / Box.co.uk?

I had to use Box support after I ordered a 1660 super during the covid period. Basically, I kept getting green artifacts on screen when using it (It wasn't used for games, just htpc media). I tried the card in two different machines and had the same issue. I put another gpu into the htpc and had no issues. So I returned it, expecting an easy process. I had only had it less than a week. They said their technicians could find no fault with it. Completely adamant it was a user error. I asked if they had played any media through it but they wouldn't tell me.

In the end, they offered to accept it as an unwanted item but I would have to pay a small fee as I had opened it. I refused.

Long story short, went through my credit card company and got a full refund. I haven't used them since. More often than not, I use amazon now. The odd time I use others such as Ebuyer, scan, ocuk etc. I used Balicom for one of the DS1821+ I bought. But rarely are their prices as competitive as amazon.
