It seems to be awash with angry shouting types, particularly those of certain political views of the zeitgeist, flaming and brigading anyone who dares mention anything they don't like. Moderation seems to be non-existent and the tech channels are often a mock fest of RTFM or "yeah bro do that, watch it burn" and then <insert gif> <insert gif response> etc
I dipped my toe into the water, found it to be caustic and writhing with snakes and piranhas, and promptly retreated to a safe distance while pondering the best way to annihilate the infestation. Drain the cess pool or just throw in dynamite after covering it in petrol? Maybe both. Even then I fear some of it would still survive like the proverbial cockroach after a nuclear armageddon.
No siree, reddit be not for me.

More seriously, yeah I read most threads, if not all, these days. not necessarily every time I visit, but eventually.
And yes, I need to get a life.
Especially nowadays, there's a distinctly nostalgic atmosphere around here. It feels like popping into a frequently visited pub, full of people that you don't necessarily know well, but nevertheless, you do kinda know well 'cos you've known them for many years.

I still read most threads anyway, but if the title makes it clear the thread is about something in which I have no interest or to which I can contribute nothing, I'll skip it.

Can y'all exchange contact info, or setup something like a discord channel or similar? The forums will have to close at some point.
