I love my 50f1.8. But really can't wait to hit Asia and America in the summer for some serious kit. I'd never buy a lens from Ebay though.

...think I might give that Tamron a look...but been hearing mixed reports; some are L glass beaters others are so soft its just not funny!
with a film body it would be an expensive way to find out whether the lens I have is good or not, could mean standing in jessops for an afternoon testing them out!...
also the Tamron stops down further than the L glass.

shiato if you have any spare compact flash cards lying around ask to test the lens on the best dSLR they have in the shop
got one of the lenses today, absolutely blown away by the quality, here's 2 from today:
Its a Carl Zeiss MC 135mm F3.5 Jena DDR, cost me £25 inc postage

Hi Tom done some reading,
I guess you have a M42-EF mount
20D in AV mode
Open aperture wide to focus
Stop aperture down, meter
Shoot
Is that about right?
yup thats almost right except they were both wide open so no stopping down.
sweet, my dad has some old lenses, this may provide a lucrative stash for the time being... off to ebay to hunt down a m42-ef adapter
Tifosi PM mate
m42-ef adapter???
yup....so you can mount m42 mount lenses on EOS cameras that use the EF mount
