    Abbey account fishing

here is the latest abbey fish that I have just received. As I work for MBNA that manages the Abbey CC account. Please be aware.

when you hover over the image in the email it gives an ip address of not a url.

    Please be careful.

This has been reported to Abbey.

Don't want to see anyone hit by this shoddy attempt.

Looks quite like the abbey screen as well, I really hope software developers manage to find a way to block all incoming spam and emails like this one.

So many people must get caught out by these...

The email companies/providers and banks should get together and take major steps to sort this out. After all its innocent people's hard earned at stake and banks like HSBC make billions of £££'s in profit.

apparently there is a virus going round *somewhere* which changes your hosts file, so even if you type the address (ie www.hsbc.co.uk) in correctly, it still sends you to the wrong site..

yes I read something about it in new scientist, the new way of attacking us normal people is to effectively 'steal' traffic before it gets to a site by using the same web address but in actual fact its a fake one that when you give your card details they get all your money...quite clever in some ways but its really nasty.
