just checked the news this morning, can you tell I care a lot about this?
urgh! oh god, not another power tripping 5 years from the labour gov. we'll sink into a well of PC gone mad now. that and huge taxes, crap hospitals that will be closed in a week anyway to reloacte 50miles away to some 'super hospital' (read: hive of breeding bacteria and mass infection. tip; if you're ill DON'T go to a hospital!).
more tax, income tax, council tax (more moronic self-apraising council workers too)

Although I'm pleased that the Lib Dems increased their number of seats, I'm a bit nonplussed that their gains came from Labour rather than the Tories. I genuinely think that they're taking votes from the left now, which is a bit of a sad state of affairs IMO.

I'm also pleased to see that Sandra Gidley just scraped through in my old constituency of Romsey; I had a good night at the by-election count in 2000 when I turned up to spectate.

oof! Was a close call here in Selby - they even had a recount cos' it looked like the conservatives were going to take the seat back after 8 years. Under 500 votes in it but our labour MP made it through, thank GOD.

Hopefully by next election I'll be living somewhere safe enough to vote libdem

A lot of the old farming counties are Tory strongholds, lots of land with seats, but only a small number of voters, hence why the map still looks pretty blue..

Michael Howard has just made his first official speech after the election result and said that he would make room for a new Tory leader "sooner rather than later" as he is getting too old!

And our constituency still has its requisite Tory, Nigel Evans. He's a nice enough chap, and a pretty good constituency MP I suppose, so it could be worse, but ye gods it's frustrating, especially when you look at the constituency map. Apparently I don't live in Preston at all, I apparently live MUCH closer to Clitheroe...one can only assume that the guy putting the lines on the map was utterly bladdered when he did it.

Look like Michael "Evil" Howard will have to think of some other way to eat the public.
