    what happens if...

...you bid on two items on ebay, one with a reserve price, the other without. your max bid falls short of the one with a reserve but remains highest bidder - in the mean time you win the other item out-right. Due to falling short of the mark may the seller still offer the item to you if they wish on the reserved item? I'm not entirely sure what happens otherwise...does the seller then re-auction until he gets a sale?

if you win the auction and fall short of the reserve the seller may just relist .. or give you the chance of buying the item ... up to the seller.

    hope this helps

Hes on about what happens if you win one, and the other which has not met the reserve.

The seller can sell with discretion, as its called in proper auctions, and let the item go for a little lower than the actual reserve if its a fair price that hes willing to sell at, if Im honest, I havnt got a clue what happens here Shiato.

I'd guess it might be ok, and you could buy the one you won, as if the reserve isnt met, then normally you get an email saying item not won, due to the reserve not being met, you could then argue that you got the email and recieved confirmation that you had not won, thus there was no contract of sale, so you went on and bid on another item, and won it. Game over

eBay is soooooooooo ****! The listed rules have little to do with what really goes on, just email him that ebay said u can have both items at the price and he will cave

ah ha...its all good, managed to get a 'good as new' un-used but 2nd hand lens on the second chance thing. bit of a steal actually.
I also would like to add I must have the most awesome girlfriend on the world, that I spent rather a huge sum of money in the space of a couple of minutes (two purchases!) didn't phase her. quality
now, about that yacht I want...

    Two Canon lenses:
24-70mm f2.8L, un-used/boxed and all the rest of it
100-400 f4-5.6L, used but good condition
finally used up inheritance money now...after years of not actually touching it. I'm happy because they're weather sealed lenses, great optically and will go with a dSLR i plan on getting. they also fit on my film SLR so what ever happens I get to use them lots AND I know they are build to last so I should be fine, I look after stuff well; I'm using my dad's 30yr old camera at the moment and i've not put so much as a scratch on it. So I'm assuming I can look after some worthwhile investments such as these, I plan to (hopefully) sell my work...
oh, the prices? lets just say the first was considerably cheaper than its price for new, and I guess you could say the same for the second. but it was still a lot

p.s. need weather sealing because I do this...fairly self explanitary I guess. (if it doesn't come up hit refresh)

oh yes. very sorted! and when all these dslrs have calmed down a bit I might invest in one of those too...all seems a little non-permanent at the moment as though its finding its feet. give it a year or so naybe and even the lowest models will have good image processing (not too bothered over megapixel count)...

When do you figure full frame DSLRs to come out dude? Or are they already out but incredibly expensive?

how much have you paid for it?

the 1DSMkII is full frame 16MP and £5K

yeah me too waiting till they come down to about £200-£250
will not happen , the 300d is the cheapest you will get 1 and is disappearing as they are presumable phasing it out

and when all these dslrs have calmed down a bit I might invest in one of those too...all seems a little non-permanent at the moment as though its finding its feet. give it a year or so naybe and even the lowest models will have good image processing
i would not expect many changes in the next year or so tbh, perhaps nikon will introduce a few higher megapixel cams when they have a sensor to use and canon a new 20d replacement but thats about it

    lol holy quote count batman
