Im off to a funeral of one of my work colleagues on friday (he was 25) and he was disgnosed with stomach cancer 4 months ago. With the news today it really hits you that it can happen to anyone at any time.

Thank god though Kylie has seen it early on.

Yes, it really is a shame, especially in people so young who have much life left ahead.

What is it? 1 in 3 die of cancer?
That means 1/3 of people in this thread...

O well, you gotta go some time....

Another classy Kylie pic is required me thinks, to brighten up the mood.

Yes, anyone getting cancer is a bad thing.

But not every woman gets 'immediate treatment', and in some ways, when I think of how many of my relatives have died from breast cancer because they were put on a waiting list and then the radiotherapy machines 'weren't working' the day they went for treatment; I almost feel a little resentful that she is so privaliged to get this and is getting the attention and support of the world. It seems unfair to think that lonely old people who have no one to support them during their illness, die everyday; yet one 'celebrity' gets it and the whole world is feeling bad about it.

Maybe we should all think about the people who won't get the treatment she is so privaleged to recieve before talking of how 'unlucky' she is.
