Never used Ebay, paranoid about it since I've heard so many stories of people getting burned. I prefer to hit Amazon and go to the new and used section. Some great deals there. Of course, unless you're looking for books, music, DVD's or whatever, then you might be out of luck.

I got outbid for my Iriver off ebay in the last 30 seconds, but i got another in in time, for another £1 someting. Lush!

When im bored i like to go find stuff, like pcs and monitors and put in bids that theres no chance of winning with. Its fun!

I have never had any problems, in over three years of selling and buying on ebay.

That's really clever, it's thanks to people like you that ebay has turned into a cess-pool.

I think Trippledence is saying he puts in ridiculously low bids. No harm in that, none at all. And if he gets a fantastic bargain, good on him I say!

I thought that was what he ment as well to be honest. Lots of people do, including myself every now and again when i have a free afternoon. Put 100+ lows bids on and you may get 2 or 3 stonking bargins if they slip though the net at the right time (auctions that end at like 3am in the morning or something). Sometimes I do it just for the resale potential, but it's sooooo hard to find a bargin these days simply because so many people are prepared to pay over the odds. Internet newbies that probably only buy on eBay and don't look else where and think 10% off high street shop prices is a give away.

It's doing my head in right now. Trying to find a bloody 1GB memory stick pro duo for my K750i. Not a flipping chance? £100 from Hong Kong - or £80 from MyMemory.co.uk?! But yet they sell like hot cakes on eBay.

Shopping on eBay used to be a real pleasure, but now it's a painful chore. eBay is a sellers friend, but Kelkoo is a buyers best friend

sniping is the sensible thing to do. Otherwise some sellers, if there are many bidding, may put in a couple of fake bids to push it up.

People who pay more than 50% of the brand new price for secondhand stuff are mongs. When i was trying to get some standard DDR a few months back people nearly always only pay a couple of quid less than what you can get it for brand new...... Is it like this in other countries? or are we a nation of idiots.

Saves the seller a few bob. eBay don't charge a commision on postage I have been tempted to do it myself in the past.

What's the best sniping software to use and is it freeware?

Never really looked into sniping before.

Try AUCTION SNIPER. I have been using it for over 2 years now to secure some right old bargings .
