    Damn static!

So it seems that these trainer socks worn with these trainers generate more electricity than Sizewell B... EVERYTHING I've touched today that is earthed in some way has given me a static shock!

At first I thought it was a just a one off... then I thought the missus might have wired the house up in an attempt to get rid of me but now I realise it's these damn trainers and the socks I'm wearing.

Just walking down the hall causes aggro if my hand brushes the radiator and I've sparked on my PC's case twice so far!

I'm gonna try and not touch anything to see if I can store a load up and fry things from a distance like Storm in the X-Men!

    lol @ Zak.

Those Chav buggers are probably insulated against it tho... Urban Cammo is 90% naylon innit?

Either that or the Chavettes gold hoops'll deflect the blast...

Edit: Stroking the cat and then going to turn on the oven is a BAD idea... seem to have built up a bit of charge there... the cat certainly looked fluffier than usual...

There's an office in Douglas that does this to me... a walk across the carpet to the copier builds up enough charge to burn a small hole in a rubber glove.... I have to carry around a screwdriver, like a small lightning rod, and earth myself every five minutes or so...

Static always freaks me out a bit really. This goes back to my first job in the supermarket stacking shelves of loo roll, man the static was so bad i was shocked about every 30 mins.

I also get this at work (a shop). The experienced people always push the warehouse lift buttons (metal) with a biro. I found it out the hard way.

Go to Las Vegas and scrape your feet on the carpets in the gaming halls, that'll do it! The have really cheap nylon carpets cos the rooms are so big. I would get a shock every 30 mins. Touch anything and you get a shock. Made you walk properly though.

I spent five days there and it took me a month to stop pushing lift buttons, opening doors etc with my covered elbow. Electroshock therapy in the extreme!!
