    What next, the "glassery"?

Consider perspex too though, it may cost less, or be safer...

Paul Micheal Glassmonger.... has a better ring to it, I'll admit.

As long as he's not called Malcolm *boom tish*

Try a local building merchants. They tend to know a good supplier of glass, and some even sell glass in pre-cut sizes

    Pffffft!

They've got one of those near me. Next to the breadmongers and the newspapermongers. Opposite the computermongers.

Just a suggestion, but why not build the table out of see-through plastic?, (acrylic is the proper name of the material I'm thinking of..... I think).

It will be much cheaper, and less likely to get damaged.

xa04 - its simply not as nicer surface as glass - a sheet of perspex i saw (same stuff??) of the right size in bnq was about £60, so i'm guessing there isnt much money to be saved either..

I think for a table top you'll need toughened glass with a polymer layer similar to the stuff they use in car windscreens. Ordinary glass will be way to fragile.

Toughened glass is hugely expensive though...

    ps. Mike, that's funny!
