Flies, Wasps and Other ********

hmm i've been lucky this year, not seen many about

simple way I have found is to keep the doors/windows closed as much as possible lol

True I have my bedroom window open most of the time cos it's so hot, but not seen 1 wasp in my room yet.

When they do get in they either get the rolled up customPC treatment(not ideal as it attracts more) or a healthy dose of fly spray, works a treat and no pheramones afaik since they only come out when you actually break the body(?)

I agree with you though, evil buggers need exterminating from the planet 8ol

actually it isn't as when you kill a wasp it emitts a pheromone that attracts other wasps, it also primes them for attack so really if you kill one you set yourself up for trouble...

I've seen three, I'm gonna wipe them all out this year hopefully with my fly burner.


Saying that, literally 17 of those big, big flies have kept on flying in to the house to be met with a yellow, smeared death on the window. I guess I should take some of the flies out now so no more come in....

We had a colder winter this year, which kill's the bugs. They work on a percentages game and lay hundreds/thusands knowing that only a small percentage will live. But don't worry, they will come.

Two winters ago it was very mild. The following summer (last year) was the worst i have ever seen it. It was like something out of a Hitchcock movie. The plum tree outside my house had loads of fruit on it and every one was covered in wasps. The tree was just covered in balls of wasps and we were trapped in the house, having to keep the windows closed mid summer and run to our cars. At work it was bad too and the council had to come out with special traps!

Many people seem to think jars of juice or watered down jam help. But all this does is attract more imo as the can smell it a long way off. The best thing you can do is find the nest.

As for fly's, these things really work - http://www.amazingflygun.com/ - Bought one as a joke from the gadget shop for £1, but now I live by mine and have 3. Not only are they fun but they are amazing at killing flys. Even shoot some down mid air with some practice
